Terms of Reference

Activities

Terms of Reference #1 : Serve as a resource center in nursing and midwifery particularly an evidence-base for nursing and midwifery for the national and international communities.

• Provide information regarding recent developments in nursing and midwifery development to WHO and work collaboratively with other WHO CC’s.
• Serve as a resource center for training of nurses and midwives in advanced specialty areas.
• Provide consultancies to organizations on behalf of WHO.


 

Terms of Reference #2 : Serve as a resource center for training of nurses and midwives in evidence-based practice in nursing and midwifery.

• Provide national trainings/workshops on evidence based nursing and midwifery.
• Provide international training on evidenced based nursing and midwifery.

 

Terms of Reference #3 : Promote and support research related to evidence-based for services, education and policy in nursing and midwifery.

• Conduct systematic reviews of research in nursing and midwifery on selected topics.
• Conduct research for best practice in nursing and midwifery for selected areas in close collaboration with nurses in other sectors and other health professionals.
• Provide consultation in evidence based practice of nursing and midwifery at national and international level.

 

 

Terms of Reference #4 : Promote and support the application and utilization of best practice in nursing and midwifery education and service.

• Develop guidelines based on evidence for best practice in nursing and midwifery.
• Work collaboratively with the nursing service in health care settings in the implementation of best practice in nursing and facilitate the utilization of best practice.

 

Terms of Reference # 5 : Collect and disseminate information on evidence-based practice in nursing and midwifery.

• Arrange conferences or meetings on evidence based nursing and midwifery at a national level.
• Submit manuscripts to peer review journals at both national and international levels.
• Produce a WHO CC newsletter.
